Heavy Hearts

Friends,

It is with heavy hearts that we share with you the news of the passing of our friend and classmate, David Neil. David died of cancer on October 23, 2007. Here’s a link to his obituary. You can leave a comment in the guestbook there if you like.

We spoke to Max Briggs, our friend and David’s business partner for 16 years, earlier today. He told us that before getting sick, David really lived life to the fullest. That’s just how we remember him from high school.

We felt terrible that we didn’t even know until now that David had been battling cancer for more than a year. It really drove the point home for us that staying in touch with old friends is so important and one of the joys of life. We want to make a real effort to stay in touch with all of you, our friends from the Class of 1984. It’s difficult given how busy we all are, with kids, jobs, and all kinds of obligations, to find time to reconnect with each other. But every once in a while we should. And we should all try to attend the reunions (our 25th is coming up in 2 years).

Here’s an idea to keep us better connected: we’ve started a blog just for the Saint Andrew’s Class of 1984. It’s at www.SA84.com. It’s nothing fancy, but just a place where we can all go to post comments about our lives and read what everyone else is up to. But it won’t work unless everyone participates once in a while. So check it out and leave a comment about what’s happening in your life or a memory about David or our time together at SA.

Here’s hoping that all’s well with you.

Best Regards,
Phil Nadel and Bill Diamond
